Summer Day Camps 2020
If you're looking for an exciting activity for your child over the summer, you've found it! BigRock Aikikai martial arts summer day camps are open to new and existing aikido students alike. Children will learn about martial arts history along with the goal of martial arts training and the ethics surrounding self-defense techniques. Daily lessons include martial arts classes, games and many other fascinating activities.

Day camp (9yrs and under) July 20-24, 2020 - $280 - Register here
Day camp (10yrs and over) August 17-21, 2020 - $280 - Register here
* Snacks are included (fresh fruits and vegetables, granola bars, water and juice), participants must bring their own lunch.
Martial arts summer day camps are offered for kids aged 5 to 12. Kids outside this age range will be considered on an individual basis. Camp activities will be divided into age groups to ensure a positive learning experience.
Summer day camp times are 8:00 to 4:30. Early drop-off (7:30) and late pick-up (5:00) are available for no additional cost with early bird registration ($10/day each after Feb 29th).

8:30 – 9:00 Morning discussion and Aikido history lesson
9:00 – 10:00 Aikido class #1 (martial arts class)
10:00 – 10:30 Morning snack
10:30 – 11:00 Active and quiet games
11:00 – 12:00 Aikido class #2 (martial arts class)
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch & quiet time
1:00 – 1:30 Afternoon discussion and Aikido history test
1:30 – 2:30 Aikido class #3 (martial arts class)
2:30 – 3:00 Afternoon snack
3:00 – 4:00 Aikido class #4 (martial arts class)
4:00 – 4:30 Active and quiet games
* Activities during early drop-off and late pick-up times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
The maximum number of participants accepted in any given camp will be 20 (minimum of 5 required to run a camp).
Participants should arrive at camp in regular clothes and bring the following:
- Dogi (practice uniform, marked with their name)
- Water bottle
BigRock Aikikai students currently participating in our Instructor Training Program, who are older than 12, can volunteer to help at any or all of these day camps at no charge. There are only 5 spots open to for ITP in each camp.
Cancellation & Refund policy: If cancellation is made more than 1 week before the camp is scheduled to begin, all fees are refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. No refunds are given if cancellation is made less than a week before the camp is scheduled to begin. If a camp does not receive the minimum number of registrations, the camp will be cancelled and 100% of fees paid will be refunded. The decision regarding cancelling a camp will be made no later than 1 week before the start of the camp.
